The proposed development involves the demolition of the existing bus garage .

 

The flatted development facing onto Hawthorne Street being the most important elevation in the development has been designed to mediate between the design of the existing bus garage and the other developments within the vicinity.

 

The urban issues involved were to retain the existing building line of the bus garage along Hawthorne Street, create communal gardens to the rear and consign communal / private parking within the proposed courtyard.
